Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the book “The Shack” by William Paul Young.
Today I pray, “Dear God, Thank You for prayer. Amen.”
Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to this passage:
“Why do children love to hide and seek? Ask any person who has a passion to explore and discover and create. The choice to hide so many wonders from you is an act of love that is a gift inside the process of life.”
—WILLIAM PAUL YOUNG
When I was a child, I hid under a blanket. And I began to pray. My first memory of prayer is a memory of hiding. I think this is why today’s passage struck me as so fitting of today’s prayer and my recollection of my earliest prayers in childhood. I hid. And I sought. I covered myself for protection. And I prayed for protection. Today is a new exploration to say a prayer of thanksgiving to God for these memories. Amen.
