Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the book “The Art of Happiness: A Handbook for Living” by Howard C. Cutler, M.D..
Today I pray, “Dear God, Thank You for laughter. It feels so good to laugh. I love to laugh in the freedom from resentment and regret. I love hearty laughter that heals my mind, body, and soul. Amen.”
Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to reveal this passage:
“In fact, whether we are feeling happy or unhappy at any given moment often has very little to do with our absolute conditions but, rather it is a function of how we perceive our situation, how satisfied we are with what we have.”
HOWARD C. CUTLER, M.D.
Oooooo. I must have an ability for joy. Didn’t know. Happy to learn. I smile and giggle and snicker and smack and cackle and croon ’til the cows come home. Then I pull out a can of whipped cream and swirl it on top of the cow pie that is every other perspective. My joy doesn’t make hatred disappeaar. It’s merely whipped cream on a cow pie. Yet I am feeling joy. And it feels good. I’m satisfied with that.
