Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the book “The Celestine Prophecy” by James Redfield.

Today I pray, “Dear God, Today begins an extended weekend of time with family. Following my eight-hour work day, I will be driving for two hours to my home away from home, the family farm where I grew up. Thanksgiving Day is tomorrow, and for many people in the United States this year, an extra serving of graciousness in our dinner table conversations will be a bountiful blessing and a fastidious feast. Thank You for the opportunity to travel home to be with my family. Thank You for all of the many blessings You have afforded me in my life. I am eternally grateful for this life, and I owe my deepest gratitude to You for this very moment, in which I may be alive to express it. Amen. ”

Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to reveal this passage:

“I don’t think anything happens by coincidence… No one is here by accident… Everyone who crosses our path has a message for us. Otherwise they would have taken another path, or left earlier or later. The fact that these people are here means that they are here for some reason.”

I have said this to my family at increasing intervals in recent years: “Each family member contributes an energy to that family unit. One that, without it, would leave the family entirely different. Be grateful for each family member. For what they teach us about ourselves, about life, about our hopes and our dreams. Reflect on how each individual family member has shifted the vibrational frequency of the family as a whole. Find gratitude in that space. And an opportunity to hug them and remind them that you love them… while you can.
