ALL OF MY MANY CHERISHED FRIENDS

Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the book “How to Live a Good Life: Soulful Stories, Surprising Science, and Practical Wisdom” by Jonathan Fields.

Today I pray, “Dear God, Thank You for cherished friends. I have so many cherished friends. Thank You for the love that springs forth from these loved ones. Amen.”

Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to reveal this passage:

“There is vitality, a life force, energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all of time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and it will be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is nor how valuable nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep yourself open and aware to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open…”
—JONATHAN FIELDS

Connection with friends who believe in me, who believe in my calling from God, is my favorite part of life. I am more readily aware of these connections now. The clarity of these friendships is a clarity that serves me so that my callings may continue to serve what is called to into service. I serve humanity by being human. I serve spirituality by being spiritual. In being the authenticity of being, I am placed within the perfection of what has always been perfect. It is through the reflection of loving and supportive friends that I am able to see the perfection all around me, and to trust that this perfection will always be.
