Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the book “The Universe in a Single Atom: The Convergence of Science and Spirituality” by Dalai Lama XIV.

Today I pray, “Dear God, It is a self-blessing to be given the fortitude in one’s heart and mind to give to one’s self.  Thank You for this.  Amen.”

Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to reveal this passage:

“On the whole, I think the Darwinian theory of evolution, at least with the additional insights of modern genetics, gives us a fairly coherent account of the evolution of human life on earth. At the same time, I believe that karma can have a central role in understanding the origination of what Buddhism calls ‘sentience’, through the media of energy and consciousness.”

Being amid free will, Divine will, and karmic will is a being of sentience. With consciousness of heart and mind forgoing ego, sentient beings choose. As even karma is now evolving, transforming from its previous state of being into its current involvement in the evolutionary process within the past two decades, karma has taken on a new realm of existence. We may choose to meet our Divine will, our Spiritual contracts, our premortal agreements. And we may choose to forgo such agreements, acting upon our graciously abundant free will. This is an evolution of self-blessing, as God blesses all that is within us — as us, as God.
