Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the book “Becoming Wise: An Inquiry into the Mystery and Art of Living” by Krista Tippett.

Today I pray, “Dear God, Thank You for wisdom. Amen.”

Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to this passage:

“That’s very important about stories. They touch something that is human in us and is probably unchanging. Perhaps this is why the important knowledge is passed through stories. It’s what holds a culture together. Culture has a story, and every person in it participates in that story. The world is made up of stories; it’s not made up of facts.”

Stories reside in feelings. And feelings reside in emotions. And humans experience emotion first. Then thought and body sensation. So to say that we are story-centered is to say that we are at the deepest connection to our essence as “Spiritual beings having a temporary human experience”. And this is wisdom. Wisdom holds many facets. One I resonate with at a higher vibration is that wisdom is being able to empower those with whom you disagree.

And so, it is in listening to others’ stories and in sharing our own stories that we connect on an empathic level. And with empathy, we may empower one another, even when we disagree. Love is the center of all of this, as each and every one of us has Source Love within. Love is what we all have in common, even if this is excruciatingly difficult to experience at times. Once we know — with an inner knowing that is far more powerful than any outside influence — that we are all connected, then we may bridge the divide of the external. Once we go within and truly love ourselves. Truly, truly love ourselves. Then we may meet humanity for the first time.

It feels bold and refreshing and full of possibility. And it becomes Heavenly. Even in a Heaven-on-earth state of being there may be contrast and learning of lessons, which we may individually bring about for ourselves as an evolution of our own self-love. So to divert from this unity consciousness as a means to escape euphoria because consistent euphoria feels boring is not the point. There is no need to divert from unity consciousness, because whenever the euphoria feels boring we may choose to hold a new contrast and a new lesson, individually, for the very story we tell as an individual evolution of self-love. Exciting!
