THIS IS FOR THE FANS!

Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the beloved book “A Course in Miracles” scribed by Helen Schauman.

Yes, this is a one month journey with this book, “A Course in Miracles”. And now, may we continue…

Today I pray, “Dear God, I have been seeing symbolism of fans at an increasing rate. Since this past summer, when I noticed the theme of a fan increasing in symbolism within my daily life, I have been seeing small fans — the spinning blades of fans of various sizes — in my visual periphery. You came to me within the past six months to inform me that when I see these spinning blades, they are being sent to me as a sign and a reminder that the Biggest Audience is a confirmed calling, and that spirits in Heaven are especially interested in my life in that given moment. Today, at work, I saw several spinning blades, fans, throughout the course of the day. I see them often at work, and I wonder what it is about my seemingly menial office job that could possibly be so interesting to spirits in Heaven. I would have offered to presume that a life of world travel and constant high-tempo adventures would have been the ticket to an earthly life worthy of a constant peek from the Heavenly realms. Yet it has been in these most unassuming moments, in simple conversations with colleagues at my regular everyday job, that I most often notice the fans peeking through.

I know that these conversations are, in essence, interpersonal communication. And I often wonder if this is why I was led to this job for a good portion of the calling. I speak with over 60 business banking relationship managers and business bankers every day. Each conversation resolves a current or present issue that they are experiencing. Most conversations involve, as one might conclude, business banking and the management of monetary gains and losses. Very earthly. Perhaps the world travel isn’t the earthiness that the spirits are most attracted to, as we humans seem to be more drawn to these ventures and see them as the ‘someday, when the kids are grown and the mortgage is paid off, I will finally travel the world’ destination point. Perhaps it is the interpersonal communication about something we attach so much significance to, money, that fascinates Heaven’s spirits.

Something they know they couldn’t take with them when they last parted from this earthly plane. Something they cannot comprehend holds so much value to us here. How is it that I can have calls coming in at a constant rate for seven full hours, business banker waiting on hold to receive my coaching about how to manage other people’s money? How can it be so that there is such a demand for this type of focus on our pale blue dot, planet earth? I see the fans in my periphery — above me, in front of my face, just beyond the far corner of my view at a distance in the room with me. And I know that these are the moments when spirits are tuned in and reminding me that they find all of this entertaining and interesting. But how can this be? My life? My menial life?

I do see the fans outside of work. I see them at home, and even when I am out and about, accomplishing errands and spending quality time with family and friends. I don’t often see them in moments we humans would consider private, such as time spent in the bathroom or in the wistful, ardent arousals with a lover. Though I did see a fan in the shower one morning this past summer. And I knew that this is what I signed up for, being seen at all times and in all places. I love the moments when they quickly catch my eye. I know that they’re there, then I look, and there is nothing to see. It simply encourages me to carry on with life and this odd little/big calling. It gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “This is for the fans!” I am simply checking in with You today, God, to ask just what it is about this symbolism that I am unaware of. Or maybe I’ve got it as it is meant to be understood. Thank You for the symbolism, and Thank You for the calling. Amen.”

Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to reveal this passage on page 386:

“I am not a body. I am free.
For I am still as God created me.”
—A COURSE IN MIRACLES

I love that the title of yesterday’s post was included in today’s passage. “As God Created.” Everything around me is a miracle. Albert Einstein once expressed this as a way to view life. And I fondly concur. There is no rush when miracles abound! Take it easy. Receive light. Receive lightness. Receive miracles, as they are everywhere and all around. They spin. They overawe. They soar. They add a breeziness to life’s unpredictable essence. Miracles defy gravity.

Sometimes it is difficult to be in the body. Oftentimes I am marked called to rehearse that I am not a body, I have a body. It is here, in this space, where the miraculous reigns majestic. For what is more miraculous than the Love of All? And what is more enticing than the mystery of miracles to discover? And so, we carry on, in our bodies, discovering new ways to Love All. And once shadowed mysteries are brought into light, into peace — into full love of self, which is full love of all.
