WHERE ETERNAL JOY ABIDETH

Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the book “The Imitation of Christ” by Thomas à Kempis.

Today I pray, “Dear God, As we are all anointed ones, what’s next? Today I am in search of vision.”

Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to reveal this passage:

“It is vanity, too, to covet honours, and to lift up ourselves on high… it is vanity to love that which quickly passeth away and not to hasten where eternal joy abideth.”
—THOMAS À KEMPIS

Yes, the joy. More than the acknowledgment of the anointed aspect of anyone, is the honoring of life that happens in joy. Each new moment can bring us to this. And if we are looking to perform what our desires have cued up for us, we, in joy, can bring each new moment. Bring the joy first, and notice what shows up. Is it plentiful? Is it abundant? Is it empowering? Is it honoring from a place of gratitude? It may be. It is your joy. And it is infinite.
