COACHING: FIVE COMMUNITY PROJECTS

Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the book “Pearls of Wisdom: Great Mind” by Lailah Gifty Nakita.

Today I pray, “Dear God, Thank You for the five community projects that have been created within the past four months in my volunteer contribution as a coach of five participants in my local community. These five participants have each created a community project, allowing for contributions throughout their own communities, and throughout the world. This generosity expands and evolves, positively impacting more people than we humans could ever possibly know. Again, this has been my honor and my delight. I love humanity, and I love contribution. Amen.”

Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to reveal this passage:

“Generosity is the heart of humanity.”

These are the five brilliant projects being actualized throughout Minneapolis and Saint Paul communities:

1. “BRIDGE OF LOVE”
Local minority communities unite with local law enforcement teams in acts of love, kindness, compassion, and harmony with one another. All moving toward each other at an equal speed.

2. “SENSATIONAL SIBLINGS”
Siblings of developmentally disabled adults are trained to be optional caretakers, as aging parents are no longer able to provide care for a disabled child.

3. “DADS AND DAUGHTERS”
Fathers and daughters of all ages gather together at planned functions and group activities within a local community. Fathers and daughters spend quality time together, engaged in an enjoyable activity for all.

4. “MAN UP”
Male high school students meet with mentors in an after-school program that trains these adolescent men beyond the books. Real-life skills are taught, inspirational coaching is provided, and students gain confidence as they enter manhood.

5. “WONDER WOMEN”
Women in a local community meet in group sessions where they empower one another through encouragement, support, and resources. Women gain additional confidence to contribute to their communities with a transformed renewal of their own empowerment.

Wow! And yes, I am continually honored to have been a part of coaching the powerful, integrous leaders who brought these ideas into being.
