Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the book “The Death of the Heart” by Elizabeth Bowen.
Today I pray, “Dear God, My heart does not die. Amen.”
Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to reveal this passage:
“She walked about with the rather fated expression you see in photographs of girls who have subsequently been murdered, but nothing so far had happened to her.”
—ELIZABETH BOWEN
This has been my month. Nothing so far has happened to me. I have only changed residence. Yet my heart resides wherever I am. And I am powerful.
Today was the Christening celebration of my Godchild, Soren. He is so beautiful and perfect. I cherish and adore him. I will spend the rest of my life praying for him. Because nothing so far has happened to me. My heart resides in Soren. My heart resides in God. My heart resides in me. And I am powerful.
