Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the book “The Grapes of Wrath” by John Steinbeck.

Today I pray, “Dear God, Integrity in the sense of following a calling is a beautiful beautiful thing. We may not know how the story will go, what the future holds, as we have free will to choose. This free will is the truest joy of life on earth. And integrity of free will is mastery. Thank You for this. Amen.”

Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to reveal this passage:

“Anybody can break down. It takes a [real] man not to.”

Man in the sense of humanity is the glorious goal here. We do not desire for humanity to have a breakdown. And yet, when it does, and we see that this happens a lot, these breakdowns are all ways leading to breakthroughs. It is through faith that we must trust the Divine order of things. And contribute wherever we may to life on earth.
