A NEW SUMMER’S NEW LIFE

Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the book “The Sound and the Fury” by William Faulkner.

Today I pray, “Dear God, ‘May Your peace, which transcends all human understanding, guard our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus.’ The Apostle Paul once conveyed this in his letters. What is today’s message surrounding this blessing? Amen.”

Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to this passage:

“Some days in late August at home are like this, the air thin and eager like this, with something in it sad and nostalgic and familiar…”
—WILLIAM FAULKNER

Today is this year’s first day of summer. The air is rich and sunny and vibrant. There is an actualization of the hope of spring moving in its energy. Time is on our side. Life feels like a prize. This is the moment to move with momentum toward love and peace and harmony upon this heavenly earth. And to know, everything that is the best of what is good can be considered sad and nostalgic and familiar… We are only just remembering it again.
