Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the book “Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee” by Dee Brown.

Today I pray, “Dear God, My days are more entertaining than anything else. Every conversation with adults feels like a conversation with a child. And this is a compliment. Faith like a child is a delightful way to experience a human being. Amen.”

Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to this passage:

“You must speak straight so that your words may go as sunlight to our hearts.”

I don’t make effortful my speaking from the heart. The child-like light within me comes through, and I look for and listen for this light within others. I am brought into the existence of joy in this. The child-like joy is bright. This child-like joy is heartfelt. The kingdom of God is within us, and it is found in the faith like a child.
