Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the book “Beloved” by Toni Morrison.
Today I pray, “Dear God, I am in You, and You are in me. This is a wonderful beloved relationship. This has me receiving all the time. And any combination of this receiving for others is something that I can appreciate and allow. I deliberately create, acceptingly allow, and lovingly attract You into life on earth. It is a celebration, indeed.”
Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to this passage:
“He wants to put his story next to hers.”
—TONI MORRISON
I could feel this passage coming. I have been asked by God to continue the telling of God’s story, which is to say to tell God’s story as it is continuing. I said a heartfelt “Yes, God!” to the request of the mission today. I transcribed the conversation as it took place:
God: “Do you know the truth?”
Me: “I know the truth.”
God: “You’ve got it? And you continue to want it?”
Me: “I’ve got it. And I continue to want it.”
God: “I speak to you All Ways. Boring truth you seek. What are you now going to create?”
Me: “Boring truth I seek? What am I now going to create?”
God: “Out of the dust of the pottery.”
Me: “I am writing this down.”
God: “You are writing this in the presence of My eagerness. What of this?”
Me: “I am here, Lord.”
God: “You are available with ease and immediacy. Walk through the door. It is open for you. Close it behind you and wait. Are you excited? Are you intrigued?”
Me: “Yes.”
God: “Good. That’s the whole point. That’s the story, told.”
To be continued. Wink wink.
