Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the book “Song of Solomon” by Toni Morrison.

Today I pray, “Dear God, As 40 represents physical completion, I like to think of Jesus’ resurrection and time on earth before the ascension as a timeframe of 40 days. What might be more important than how long he was here — appearing to Mary Magdalene at the tomb; to two grieving followers on the road to Emmaus; to the apostles without Thomas in Jerusalem; to Thomas with the apostles; at the sea of Tiberias; and at the ascension — was that intentions were set forth to share the teachings. The best part about the retelling? It is now happening at a time when teachings are abundantly available to everyone! Physical completion has transformed into Spiritual rising. Thank You for this time. Amen.”

Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to this passage:

So now we receive the Holy Spirit here among the entire earth. It’s a beautiful thing. And there is freedom and love in this. There is joy and celebration in this. There is wellbeing in this. There is discovery in this. There is blessedness in this. And there is feeling good all the time in this. Today and every day.
