THE STAPLE OF PEACE ON EARTH

Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the book “The Bluest Eye” by Toni Morrison.

Today I pray, “Dear God, From where does inspiration arise? And what is inspiration? Amen.”

Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to this passage:

“We mistook violence for passion, indolence for leisure, and thought recklessness was freedom.”
—TONI MORRISON

Passion, leisure, and freedom. Let’s start there. I got it. So when I think in a direction of desiring any of these three, I am moved by a Godly force, which is to say I am inspired by Godly Source. Then the convolution creates ashes. And we are where we are. And we will keep on being where we are until one of two things happens: We destroy our earth and all living things upon it. Or peace. Take me to Staples. “That was easy.”
