Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the book “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings” by Maya Angelou.
Today I pray, “Dear God, I pray for people because this is why I am here. And amid all of this prayer, in the words of Mother Teresa, ‘Life is an opportunity, benefit from it. Life is beauty, admire it. Life is a dream, realize it. Life is a challenge, meet it. Life is a duty, complete it. Life is a game, play it. Life is a promise, fulfill it. Life is a sorrow, overcome it. Life is a song, sing it. Life is a struggle, accept it. Life is a tragedy, confront it. Life is an adventure, dare it. Life is luck, make it. Life is too precious, do not destroy it. Life is life, fight for it.’ Amen.”
Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to this passage:
“Without willing it, I had gone from being ignorant of being ignorant to being aware of being aware. And the worst part of my awareness was that I didn’t know what I was aware of. I knew I knew very little, but I was certain that the things I had yet to learn wouldn’t be taught to me at George Washington High School.”

I am Home schooled. Heaven schooled. It is a solid education. Privy to that beyond books. It is formidable and hardly accredited. Yet it is sufficiently credible. Those who believe, believe. And those who do not, do not. And this is why there will, by the will of man, always be indoctrinated, formal schooling. The Beatles had it beat with their nonsensical words in the song ‘Come Together’. Because often, words are nonsensical. And school is nonsensical. But words aren’t going anywhere any time soon. So we may sing our song.
