Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the book “The Talented Mr. Ripley” by Patricia Highsmith.

Today I pray, “Dear God, What do You admire about humanity when we need a reminder? Amen.”

Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to this passage:

“I’m going to enjoy what I’ve got as long as it lasts.”

Yeah. We do have this, don’t we. We know that Heaven is forthcoming, yet we don’t often think about or talk about this nearly as much as we think about and talk about life on earth. Because here is where we are. And here is where we last as long as we last. We fill our dialogues with lots of busy words. We fill our time with that which we may while we may. And Heaven will offer its own everlasting perfection. So imperfection, while it lasts… we’re going to enjoy it.
