FOR BRAVERY

Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the book ‘I Heard God Laughing: Poems of Hope and Joy’ by Hafez, Daniel Ladinsky (Translator).

Today I pray, “Dear God, Sometimes I laugh when I have premonitions because You are letting me in on some pretty incredible secrets. Even when the secrets are those that might make a majority upset, fearful, resigned, and cynical. I have come to see the veil of the unknown as intriguing and opportunistic. When You enlighten me, I take a deep breath and think to myself, “Of course.” Any encouragement surrounding these best kept secrets that I have been made aware of and not given the go-ahead blessing to share with the rest of the world? Amen.”

Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to this passage:

“Come in, my dear
From that harsh world
That has rained elements of stone
Upon your tender face.

Every soul
Should receive a toast from us
For bravery!”
—HAFEZ

I think my dreams trip me up more than my waking premonitions. When I receive messages in my dreams, I have done enough Spirit work to know that my calling is to pray about them. I am sent messages about cities, countries, continents, months, and dates. I audibly hear either a man’s voice or a woman’s voice — this seems to rotate evenly — right before I open my eyes in the morning. When I am to exit sleep and enter my day, it as if I receive a last-minute message. I also have dream-sleep premonitions about people, specific topics, and broad topics. Some of the topics — especially locations — show up frequently within a timeframe.

When I pray for those locations, they eventually fade from a patterned appearance in dreams or waking signs and symbols in my life. That vanishing has come to mean that my prayers have healed that for which I was praying. And it is then that I receive a new prayer mission. Intercessory Prayer takes attention, honor, faith, discernment, study, awareness, and patience. Attention, discernment, and faith have become the three major players in my Intercessory Prayer calling and purpose. I see Prophecy and Intercessory Prayer as art forms and gifts. And I am honored, in all of this bravery, to honor God and follow my dreams.
