Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the book ‘Better Than Good’ by Zig Ziglar.
Today I pray, “Dear God, Your Greatness is something that we, humans, talk about. We do. Yet what are we missing in our conversations that would make life even better? Amen.”
Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to this passage:
“Peak performance is dependent on passion, grit, determination, and a willingness to do something poorly until you can do it well.”
—ZIG ZIGLAR
I am very poor at pilfering. I am no good at it. I cannot bamboozle, swindle, defraud, flimflam, or jive. I am a total loser at jive. But what I can do is pray. I pray to save lives; I pray to stop disasters; I pray to create miracles. I’m pretty good at that — and I’m getting better. I will work on the flimflam. And if I can find a way to make the world a better place beyond prayer, I will become determined do it poorly until I can do it well.
