Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the book ‘How to Win Friends and Influence People’ by Dale Carnegie.
Today I pray, “Dear God, For the purpose of peace, harmony, and prosperity for all, what is a starting point of building upon such a positive-people rally? Amen.”
Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to this passage on page 201:
“As I sat here and listened to your side of the story, I could not help being impressed by your fairness and patience. And now, because you are fair-minded and patient, I am going to ask you to do something for me. It’s something that you can do better than anyone else, something you know more about than anyone else.”
—DALE CARNEGIE
I believe we are asked such a request of God and of life when our faith and harmony show its true colors all the way into this invitation. This is the next step. These moments, when they finally arrive, are some of the greatest treasures life has to offer. What is that something in your life? “Something that you can do better than anyone else, something you know more about than anyone else”? Pray on this for a moment. Perhaps a day…or a week. I prayed on it for about 30 years. And it was totally worth the patience!
