Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the book ‘Life’s Little Instruction Book’ by H. Jackson Brown Jr.
Today I pray, “Dear God, When we are reminded of Your New Covenant, we are able to live our lives in the perspective of the transformation that there is nothing we could ever do that could possibly make You love us less. This is the gift of Jesus Christ. The Ten Commandments become distant and Christ becomes our light. Thank You for this time of year, a time to celebrate the birth of the Light. All my love, Amen.”
Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to this passage:
“Slow dance.”
Tonight my sister slow danced with her infant son to a Christmas song playing a harmonious scratch on the very vinyl we remember listening to as children this time of year. It was a full-circle record moment in time. This slow dance of love is one that God carries us in from the first note to the last. Beginning to end. May we enjoy every sway of partnership, every tone of love, every rhythm of grace. “And may the peace that transcends all human understanding guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” Amen.
