Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the book ‘Long Way Round’ by Ewan McGreggor and Charley Boorman.

Today I pray, “Dear God, When we are willing to accept the daring, enduring adventure of the long way to our lessons, what arises within to remain with us upon our journey? Amen.”

Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to this passage:

“We’ll get there!”

There are endless questions about Heaven. What a forever topic of discussion! I love this passage response to my prayer. It is simple, encouraging, and loyal. God gives us more than we can handle. I cannot pretend that humans don’t have these moments.

Yet in the instant moments of our prayers, God deletes the more than we can handle. And that is the long way. The immediacy of prayer can shorten this for ourselves, and for others. I do welcome the lessons, yet I need to also welcome the disappearance of pain.
