Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the book ‘Converstations With Myself’ by Nelson Mandela.
Today I pray, “Dear God, When we are alone with ourselves for a time long enough to have an open ended conversation, what do You most want to offer us when given the opportunity to interject? Amen.”
Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to this passage:
“Moments later they become aware of my presence. If they got a shock they endured it with grace. Nevertheless, I detect some invincible feeling of unease on their part.”
—NELSON MANDELA
God is here. All the time. And I talk to myself. Every day. But really, I know that I’m talking to God. I must have God with me at all times and in all places to appreciate the horrors of life. There is no other way that I can look around me — aware of the somewhere existence of terror, abandonment, and wickedness — and live forward. In knowing God’s Presence, I know of Heaven’s perfection.
