Today’s Prayer to Passage will connect with Sarah Young’s inspirational daybook ‘Jesus Calling.’
And I pray, “Dear God, I can feel that this is a time of transition for me. This is probably taking place in ways that You are fully aware of and I can only begin to understand. In transition, what do I need to fully cling to?”
September 3:
“LET THE DEW OF MY PRESENCE refresh your mind and heart. So many, many things vie for your attention in this complex world of instant communication. The world has changed enormously since I gave the command to be still and know that I am God. However, this timeless truth is essential for the well-being of your soul. As dew refreshes grass and flowers during the stillness of the night, so My Presence revitalizes you as you sit quietly with Me.
A refreshed, revitalized mind is able to sort out what is important and what is not. In its natural condition, your mind easily gets stuck on trivial matters. Like the spinning wheels of a car trapped in mud, the cogs of your brain spin impotently when you focus on a trivial thing. As soon as you start communicating with Me about the matter, your thoughts gain traction and you can move on to more important things. Communicate with Me continually, and I will put My thoughts into your mind.”
—SARAH YOUNG“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
—PSALM 46:10“For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.”
—1 CORINTHIANS 14:33
Alright, not to fret. Faith in the presence of God will carry me during a transition. I have been receiving words from God of this transition and I am now in a waiting room of anticipation. There is certainly exhaustion at this juncture, as I feel the ending of something partnering with the beginning of a new venture and assignment. As I am looking around to find what this new assignment must be, I do become distracted. And my head is filled with noise.
I will be still. The mission will arrive, and I will know it when I see it. I have faith that the actions that I am to take will be as clearly stated as destiny, speaking to my heart as it has lived, and will live, eternally. And I thank God for the mission, as it has arrived. For this new assignment, I am fully grateful and humble. I thank God for being acknowledged toward advancement.
Forward movement requires focus and revitalization. It is a new day and a new chapter in life. I trust God’s authorship of peace, knowing God will guide me and keep me entirely capable. And so, it is time to pick up my instruments and begin. There is nothing to fear, nothing to draw me away; for I am not timid, nor weary, when appointed by God. As dew clings to grass in the morning, I have the revitalizing Presence of God.
