Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the book “Guardians of Being” by Eckhart Tolle.

Today I pray, “Dear God, As human being encompasses all that we choose to attain in this lifetime and do not quite reach — calling upon us to be always learning and growing, flowing into being beyond the shell of our earthly body — what is to be known of all that is here that is not human? Animals, plants, spirit guides, Archangels and other Divine angelic guardians… Thank You for Your answer. Amen. .”

Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to reveal this passage:

“Just watching an animal closely can take you out of your mind and bring you into the present moment, which is where the animal lives all the time — surrendered to life.”

I had not thought of animals and plants in this way until within the past few months! Can you believe this!? I remember staring at my parents’ dog, which I call my family dog, this past month and thinking, ‘She does not know death. She does not know the fear of death. She does not know age. She does not know aging. She does not know time. She is more connected to reality than I am!’ And then I understood God’s brilliance in creating animals and plants. They are our teachers.
