Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the book “The Story of a Soul: The Autobiography of the Little Flower” by St. Thérèse of Liseux.
Today, I pray, “Dear God, Thank You for the stories our souls tell. Amen.”
Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to reveal this passage:
“I understood that every flower created by Him is beautiful, that the brilliance of the rose and the whiteness of the lily do not lessen the perfume of the violet or the sweet simplicity of the daisy. I understood that if all the lowly flowers wished to be roses, nature would no longer be enamelled with lovely hues. And so it is in the world of souls, Our lord’s living garden.”
—ST. THÉRÈSE OF LISEUX
This passage is so beautiful to me. Free souls. Colorful souls. A loving garden. How lovely to view humanity, and the Heavenly realm, in this way.
I imagine Heaven this way sometimes. I arrive to Heaven to meet all of the vibrant colors of light, spirits. There are so many. There is a gentry of colorful light within all humanity. And it becomes brilliant to view humans in this way, to view humanity in this way.
