MESSY BEAUTY

Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the book “Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah” by Richard Bach.

Today I pray, “Dear God, Last night I went to a movie with my parents. Yes, I am still on an retreat away from my regular routine, at my childhood home enjoying time within this familiar space. The movie I attended was “Collateral Beauty”. I had not seen anything about the film prior to the viewing, and I received the opportunity to have the artwork affect me at its upmost potential. There are so many things I could write about this movie, yet as it could become a bit of a spoiler to write about it at this time, I will refrain. I will state that the synchronicity is astonishing, for me, and my personal experiences in the past few months. Thank You for sending this film to me. I look forward to continuing to experience the collateral beauty, and I wish the same for all of Your children, everyone. Amen.”

Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to reveal this passage:

“Remember where you came from, where you’re going, and why you created this mess you got yourself into in the first place.”
—RICHARD BACH

I do think about the future of my looking back on the past. This is an infinity all to itself. I am certain of my callings. I am accepting my gratitude for all of these blessings in their constant arrivals. I am looking back and smiling. I am staying present and smiling. I am looking forward and smiling. I am in love with my life. I am head-over-heels in love, like a silly school girl. And it is perfect.
