Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the book “Lord of the Flies” by William Golding.
Today I pray, “Dear God, We know that people have tendencies to respond to drama with more drama. Even if they believe they are trying to put an end to the drama. A bit of a paradox. Any advice among this? Amen.”
Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to this passage:
“The thing is – fear can’t hurt you any more than a dream.”
—WILLIAM GOLDING
When I awaken from a nightmare, I say a prayer of thansgiving, appreciation, and gratitude that the dream is not a reality. And this prayer of thanksgiving, this attitude of gratitude, shifts my momentum into ease and lightness.
“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
—1 THESSALONIANS 5:18
“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe you have received it, and it will be yours.”
—MARK 11:24
And I honor love through appreciation. Love is the opposite of fear, and there is no need for fear. Fear, nerve, is what we leave behind when we leave our bodies. So why would we disconnect from this sacred freedom here? Ease is our best choice, freedom is our best gift, and joy is our best reason. Amen to that.
