WHEN DOVES CRY

Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the book “Who Moved My Cheese?” by Spencer Johnson.

Today I pray, “Dear God, It is not a risk to be authentic. It is a reality. Authenticity is a reality of joy. And joy is You moving with us. Which is to say that authenticity is You moving with us. Thank You for this. Amen.”

Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to this passage:

“When you change what you believe, you change what you do.”
—SPENCER JOHNSON

The dove is the creature that represents the Holy Spirit. The Mourning Dove’s calling is my favorite of bird songs. It is calming and peaceful, reminding me of home. In Minnesota, when the Mourning Dove calls out a trio of coos, it is a blessed sign of springtime awaited. New life, new growth, new birthing of authenticity. The cycle of life and eternal renewal of the Holy Spirit moving with us.
