Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the book ‘The Five People You Meet in Heaven’ by Mitch Albom.
Today I pray, “Dear God, Heaven arrives. And connection carries over from earthly experience. In the very moment of our arrival into Heaven, what will we experience anew? Amen.”
Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to this passage:
“In order to move on, you must understand why you felt what you did and why you no longer need to feel it.”
—MITCH ALBOM
Upon reading today’s passage, I thought about all of the feelings we human beings have on earth that we will no longer have in Heaven. And in understanding why we will no longer have these feelings, we must first understand why we have them. This familiarity is distinctive to each individual life of desired lessons. And this familiarity is collective of humanity as a whole wide world. Your feelings are your feelings, distinctive to you — while your feelings are also connected to the earth in its entirety.
I believe that, in Heaven, I will feel peace, joy, abundance, love, comfort, fascination, calm, and exuberance — among a myriad of other feelings carried over from earthly life. And I believe I will no longer feel pain, sorrow, grief, fear, anger, spite, envy, and indignation — among all the other feelings I will no longer need to feel. Why I feel the need to feel these feelings in each present moment? The feelings are lessons for my soul. And letting them go is Heavenly.
