Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the book ‘Awaken The Giant Within’ by Anthony Robbins.
Today I pray, “Dear God, over my Christmas holiday week I had the cozy opportunity to view Disney/Pixar’s motion picture animation ‘Inside Out’ with my parents, sister, and brother-in-law. This was a joyous experience. There were tears, too. What a colorfully brilliant storyline and concept! What is Your word of emotional sentiment today? Amen.”
Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to this passage:
“One belief that I’ve developed to carry me through extremely tough times is simply this: God’s delays are not God’s denials.”
—ANTHONY ROBBINS
I am highly impressed. I honestly wasn’t expecting a passage that includes God. I think that sometimes I have great respect for personal and professional growth, training, and development leaders…in a way befitting to them such that I separate their impending wisdom from a Spiritual conversation. But God qualifies the called. And if one is called to lead, God shows up. And so it is with today’s passage.
SPOILER ALERT: The young female protagonist in the motion picture ‘Inside Out’ finds her optimism again. There are some tender moments in the film — amid fanciful, boisterous memories. I will add that the moments illustrating anger were some of the more laugh-out-loud features of the flick. Fascinating, is it not? The moments of anger were, at times, hilarious. What if this is how Heaven is viewing us? All of our anger in all of its varying degrees — laughable? God doesn’t deny us. It only feels that way sometimes.
