Today’s Prayer to Passage will be from the book ‘The Four Agreements’ by Don Miguel Ruiz.

Today I pray, “Dear God, What is Your favorite ornament? Amen.”

Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and opened it to this passage:

“In your mind a whole relationship begins from that.”

A few years ago, while watching my father giddy with excitement amid the colorful and lively Christmas ornaments on the freshly cut fir tree in the living room of the home where I grew up, I stated that someday he would have the opportunity to share such a moment of joy with a grandchild. This year, he has two grandsons — at the tree. Wondrous gifts. The light and movement will become memories. And the moments will be new relationships. For my father, sharing in the elation that Christmas ornaments bring will begin a whole relationship with not one but two bundles of joy. A heavenly adornment, a trinity trimming. Amen.
