Today’s Prayer to Passage continues within the lovely daybook ‘Simple Abundance’ by Sarah Ban Breathnach.
I pray, “Dear God, Today is the American holiday Labor Day. What is Your teaching of labor in life?”
Following my prayer, I held the closed book in my hands and turned to today’s passage in the day book.
September 7:
“Oh, the secret life of man and woman—dreaming how much better we would be than we are if we were somebody else or even ourselves, and feeling that our estate has been unexploited to its fullest.”
—ZELDA FITZGERALD“The world needs dreamers and the world needs doers. But above all, the world needs dreamers who do. Don’t just entrust your hopes and wishes to the stars. Today, begin learning the craft that will enable you to reach for them.”
—SARAH BAN BREATHNACH
I take the actions that are available to me. This world is full of opportunities to do what I choose as a means to a life. God provides the opportunity, and I choose the life. What is so is that I long to keep life a labor of love, a joyful and peaceful function. I am a dreamer and a doer, always ready to exploit my life in the best regarded sense of the term. Lauded life is in the eyes of the one living it, and I bid the highest praise to this one.
